Have someone ever used that phrase or a similar one on you? Perhaps, not jokingly but in a sarcastic manner..?
As I was bathing, I stumbled upon this thought. I couldn't understand why someone would ever use that phrase in that way, either trying to impress or to hurt someone. Whichever way, I don't think it is a good thing to do.(Well yes, nobody is perfect..)
In fact, I think its quite rude for a person to say that. Thinking if, someone were to say that, they must've known or assumed that the other person is ignorant. Else, they wouldn't have said that at all. And if, they know that the other party is ignorant, why not let them know instead of saying that? And if, the ignorant party is too, well, stupid or retarded to understand anything then I guess there's no point in trying to explain. But, by using that phrase, it can be demoralizing or even insulting to them. Well, you do make people feel stupid by saying that. Yes, or no?
Oh well, just expressing my thoughts. I think I'm over-thinking things again.
By the way, I've gotten back my laptop. It's as good as new now. :)
